TEDx
Established in 2017, TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool is built around TED's core philosophy of "Ideas Worth Spreading." Since its founding, Saint Andrew’s has proudly hosted nine consecutive TEDx events, with the program celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2027.
TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool is a unique tradition and the only Saint Andrew’s event that regularly brings together students from all three divisions—Lower, Middle, and Upper School—as speakers. Throughout the year, students develop, write, refine, and ultimately deliver original TEDx talks on topics they are passionate about, guided by our certified TED-Ed Innovative Educator, Dr. Lisa Winer, and a dedicated team of faculty mentors.
The event serves as a showcase of the talent, creativity, and diverse perspectives within the Saint Andrew’s community. Each year, student, faculty, and alumni speakers join a carefully curated lineup that also highlights innovation in media, art, and technology. Students play an active role not only on stage, but behind the scenes as well, with Saint Andrew’s broadcasting classes and student media organizations contributing to the production and filming of the event.
In the Upper School, students may enroll in the TED-Ed course, a semester-long program focused on developing an original TEDx talk idea, crafting a compelling narrative, and strengthening the writing, communication, and public speaking skills required to bring that idea to life. Through drafting, coaching, rehearsal, and revision, students learn how to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a live audience.
In the Lower and Middle Schools, students can participate in after-school TED-Ed enrichment programs that cultivate these same skills at an earlier age. These programs encourage curiosity, creativity, and confident self-expression while helping identify future speakers for the annual TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool event.
Together, TED-Ed and TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool empower students to find their voice, share their passions, and contribute meaningful ideas to their community and beyond.
