Scots Welcome Nation’s Best for Spring Break Showdowns

Boys Lacrosse Team 2026

Over spring break, the Saint Andrew’s boys lacrosse program once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by hosting two national powerhouse opponents: Boys Latin School from Baltimore, Maryland, and Chaminade High School from Long Island, New York. The annual tradition of bringing elite out-of-state teams to Boca Raton remains a cornerstone of the Scots’ preparation for a championship run.

There is tremendous value in competing against top-tier programs from different regions. These teams bring unique systems, playing styles, and levels of physicality that challenge the Scots in ways local competition cannot always replicate. Whether in victory or defeat, these matchups provide meaningful experience and sharpen the team for its ultimate goal: a state championship.

Both contests delivered on their promise, featuring high-level play and drawing large, enthusiastic crowds. Boys Latin’s visit, a nearly two-decade tradition, remains one of the highlights of the Scots’ schedule. Competing in Baltimore’s MIAA, arguably the most competitive lacrosse conference in the country, Boys Latin uses its Florida trip as a springboard into a demanding season, making the matchup mutually beneficial for both programs.

This year’s game against Boys Latin carried added meaning, as it was played in tribute to Liam Gleason, a beloved coach and cherished member of the lacrosse community who passed away on December 3. Liam, the brother of Saint Andrew’s Defensive Coordinator Brendan Gleason, left an enduring impact on all who knew him. In his honor, coaches from both teams wore green lapel ribbons adorned with his initials. The “LG” pins served not only as a tribute to Liam’s life and legacy, but also as a meaningful reminder of the importance of organ donation.
