The Saint Andrew's boys lacrosse team is heading to the FHSAA 1A State Championship this Saturday, where they will face off against rival Benjamin. The Scots earned their spot in the title game after a commanding 17-4 victory over Bolles in the state semifinals.
Fueled by a relentless defense and a sharp, opportunistic offense, the Scots built a 6-2 lead by halftime. In the second half, the offense erupted, putting the game out of reach.
Shovan Eriksson led the scoring surge with 4 goals and 2 assists, while Nick Testa added a goal and a game-high six assists. Other key contributors included Matteo Moran and Kian Robbins with 2 goals each, and Connor Byrnes and Scooter Barrett, who each tallied 1 goal and 1 assist.
On the defensive side, senior leaders Will Caragol and Logan Weiss anchored a unit that stifled the Bolles attack. They were supported by standout performances from Remington DeOrsey, Constantine Kanarios, Mason Meyerer, Brandon Mordis, and Xander Gerrard.
Junior goalie Theodore Loucas made seven saves to preserve the lead, while Jordan Mordis closed out the game in net for the Scots.
The state championship face-off is set for 2:30 pm this Saturday at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples. The Scots are looking to bring home another state title—come out and support them!
