Saint Andrew’s Dominates at Region 4 Meet, Qualifies Strong Contingent for State Championships

Saint Andrews Sweep Florida 1A Regional Title Champs 2025

The Saint Andrew’s School swimming and diving teams delivered dominant performances at the Florida Class 1A Region 4 Championships, sweeping both the boys and girls titles. The Scots captured the regional crowns with decisive victories—477 points for the girls and 432 for the boys—solidifying their positions as state contenders heading into this weekend’s championship meet.

Coming off runner-up finishes to Bolles at last year’s state meet, both Saint Andrew’s squads showcased depth, balance, and standout individual performances across nearly every event.

The boys team was led by Jared Berke, who won both the 200 individual medley (1:52.47) and the 100 breaststroke (56.64, personal best), and Conner Brinley, who took top honors in the 100 backstroke (50.73) and 100 butterfly (50.39). Their efforts, combined with strong swims from teammates, helped propel the Scots to victory.

Saint Andrew’s depth was evident across the board. Matthias Orlandini recorded a personal best 47.04 to win the 100 freestyle, while Cash Vinas claimed the 50 freestyle (21.65). William Domokos-Murphy added a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle (4:34.07, personal best), and Enrico Guizardi took second in the 100 breaststroke (57.40, personal best).

Relay depth also powered the Scots’ success, as they won all three relays. The boys 200 medley relay team of Brinley, Berke, Carlos Flores Pinedo, and Vinas clocked 1:33.10, while the 200 freestyle relay (Vinas, Flores Pinedo, Guizardi, Domokos-Murphy) finished first in 1:25.73. The 400 freestyle relay team of Domokos-Murphy, Brinley, Orlandini, and Berke closed the meet with another victory in 3:06.46.

On the girls side, Cielo Moya was a double winner, posting personal bests in the 50 freestyle (23.66) and 100 butterfly (55.33). Her leadership was complemented by strong performances from teammates Alera Hurwitz and Lexie Lucchese, who went one-two in the 100 freestyle with times of 52.72 and 52.80, respectively.

Gracie Weeks added a win in the 500 freestyle (5:08.41), while Nerea Gutierrez-Stenhauer finished second in the 100 backstroke (57.86).

The Scots’ divers also made their mark, with Millie Cochrare and Harper Mull finishing first and second, respectively, scoring 422.15 and 375.85 points to secure valuable team points.

Saint Andrew’s relays continued to dominate the pool, winning the 200 freestyle relay (Moya, Lucchese, Ariana Moya, Addison Kent) in 1:37.94 and finishing a close second in both the 200 medley relay (1:47.30) and 400 freestyle relay (3:31.93).

With both Saint Andrew’s teams sending a large contingent of qualifiers to the upcoming FHSAA Class 1A State Championships, the Scots are once again poised to challenge for the top spot. After last year’s runner-up finishes, the momentum from Region 4 suggests that Saint Andrew’s will be a major force in the race for state titles.
