Financial Aid

With a budget of over $4 million for the 2022-2023 school year, our financial aid program assists more than 190 qualified students to make a Saint Andrew’s education financially feasible. Grants can be up to 98% of tuition for day or boarding students.

Financial aid is awarded on the basis of a family’s demonstrated need. “Need” is defined as the difference between tuition plus expenses and a family’s potential expected contribution. To help evaluate demonstrated need, Saint Andrew’s School employs the nationally standardized system for analysis through School and Student Services.

The Financial Aid Committee uses the methodology developed by SSS as the basis for determining what a family might reasonably be expected to contribute toward educational expenses. This formula considers income, assets, liabilities, and expenses of the student and the parents. It also considers the age of the parent(s), family size and any additional children in tuition charging schools. Ultimately the formula seeks to determine a family’s discretionary income – the income over which a family has the choice as to how it is spent.

Every student that applies for admission to Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, Florida, may also apply for financial aid. Often, more families qualify for financial aid than we are able to fund and, as a result, there may be some families who qualify for aid to whom we are unable to make an award. Since the admission application and financial aid application are two separate processes, a student may be accepted to Saint Andrew’s School but may not be offered financial aid.

Though we make every effort to meet a family’s demonstrated need, we may not be able to do so in every case.

FAQ's

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • If we do not receive aid when we enroll, can we reapply in future years?

Typically, families who begin at Saint Andrew’s School paying full tuition are expected to continue to do so unless unforeseen circumstances make that impossible. Families that do not receive aid in the first year may reapply in subsequent years though it is only in rare cases that we are able to make an award.
  • What happens if parents are divorced or separated?

When considering an application for financial aid, the Financial Aid Committee will review the assets of both natural parents and stepparents before making an award decision. Custodial and noncustodial parents are each required to complete the entire financial aid application process including filing a PFS and submitting all required tax documentation. The Committee considers both households’ ability to contribute to tuition. Each request is reviewed on a case by case basis and families may be asked to submit additional documentation, such as court orders, at the discretion of the Financial Aid Committee.
  • Will my child’s financial aid award change from year-to-year?

Awards are re-evaluated annually; families must reapply each year their child is enrolled in Saint Andrew’s School. Once financial aid has been awarded it is reasonable to expect that awards will be renewed each year so long as a family’s financial situation has not experienced any significant changes, a family’s account is current, and the student remains in good academic and social standing.
  • Will a request for financial aid influence the admission decision?

No. Saint Andrew’s bases its acceptance of students on the quality of their Application for Admission to the school, regardless of financial need.
  • Is the financial aid application process confidential?

All applications for financial aid are held in the strictest confidence and are only shared with members of the Financial Aid Committee.
