Character

As a PreK-12 School in the Epsicopal Tradition, we believe in the moral development of our students so they can individually reach their highest potential. For over 50 years, the traditions of our school manifest a commitment to social justice through our Honor Code, Character Development, and Community Service Programs.

At Saint Andrew's, we believe in “honor above all” and our Honor Code teaches students to be honorable, respectful, and responsible young people.

Character development extends beyond academics as we incorporate activities designed to develop socially responsible attitudes and thoughtful and appropriate action into our program. Effective action demonstrates a sense of responsibility and respect for self, others, and the natural environment.

Service-Learning is a teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen communities. Through service-learning, young people use what they learn in the classroom to solve real-life problems. While giving back, students are able to grow both personally and socially, developing 21st-century skills such as collaboration, cooperation, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and creative and critical thinking.
