Global Phenomenon TEDx Takes Center Stage at Saint Andrew’s School
T - E - D. These three signature red letters have come to mean the sharing of ideas on a global stage. On Thursday, April 25, Saint Andrew’s School brought the world of TED to campus for the day-long TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool event.
In a world filled with ideas spread through likes, sharing, links, and posts, TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool offered a live connection to TED. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that brings people together to integrate a TED-like experience into a local community.
At Saint Andrew’s School’s TEDx event, the TED talks, video, and live speakers combined to spark deep discussion and connection. The theme of TEDxSaintAndrewsSchool was Altering Perspectives which encouraged audiences to ask themselves this question: Is it possible for one person to know the life of another?
Audience members were inspired to see through someone else’s eyes and wear someone else’s shoes during the TEDx event held in Roberts Theater - The Center for the Performing Arts. “What a truly phenomenal experience it was to be in the audience,” said Tori-Lynn Saraniti, long-time SA parent.
“I had never attended a TEDx event and was captivated by the eloquence with which students, and adults, conveyed their stories. The personal touches, the emotional connections, the confidence exuded on stage...it was outstanding,” she added.
A non-profit, independent, co-educational school for grades Pre-K - 12, Saint Andrew's School is a private day and boarding school located in Boca Raton, educating the best students from across Palm Beach County, Florida, the United States, and throughout the world in the Episcopal tradition.
