SAINT
ANDREW’S SWIMMING
Swim Practice Policy
for Parents
Parents/Guardians
are not permitted on the pool deck during scheduled practice times. Coaches will help Bronze swimmers get caps
and goggles on prior to practice. Access to the pool deck is permitted during
the final ten minutes of each practice session. There are shaded picnic tables
at the pavilion for your convenience.
This
will allow for the coaches to attend to the swimmers without interruptions and
will enable us to build an effective coach/swimmer relationship. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Swim Meet Policy
- Swimmers are expected to stay in
the Team Area. This allows for the coaches to know where all
swimmers are in order to get them to their events on time, as well as to continue
building a team atmosphere. Swimmers are permitted to talk to their
parents for short amounts of time throughout the swim meet, but need to
let the coaches know first.
- Parents are not permitted to stay
in the Team Area.
- Swimmers must talk to their coach
FIRST upon completing every event in order to get proper feedback on their
races.
- Any parents with questions on
anything about the meet, please feel free to ask anyone on the coaching
staff, or other “experienced” parents! So, any parents who have been
with us and notice new faces, please offer help, as a first swim meet can
be overwhelming!
- Eating during swim meets is not
recommended unless it has been several hours since the last meal. Many meets are lengthy, so if it is
necessary to have something, a banana or small healthy snack is
sufficient. Chips and soda will not
be permitted. Be sure to bring plenty of water!
- Before leaving a meet, please notify
the coaches first. Sometimes there
are relays that your child may be entered in and other times there are
meets where the coaches require everyone to stay until the end.
The only way we can instill the team
rules is with parent cooperation.
Thank you for your understanding and
trust.
