Day Family Questions & Answers

Saint Andrew’s was founded as a boarding school, but today we are a large day school with a small resident life program at the heart of the campus!  As a day parent, you may know little about the resident life program and we hope to answer some of your questions here.

FAQs

  • How do I host a resident student?

Resident students are able to spend overnights with day families, according to the permissions that have been given by their parents.

To host a resident student, please email the Resident Life Office, Brooke.Swindle@saintandrews.net or Lauren.Herman@saintandrews.net.  You may also text us an invitation to the resident life cell: 561-213-5701.  On the weekend, please call and text this number.

Please understand that it is our expectation that resident students will be supervised by the person who issues the invitation.  Resident students are unable to be unsupervised homes for overnights.  Resident students should not be in the presence of alcohol or other illegal substances while in your care.
  • My child has asked to stay with a resident student for an overnight, is this possible?

Resident students may host a day student with advance notice, permission, and the day family completing the form below.
  • When are day students allowed to visit the residence halls?

Day students are welcome to visit friends of the same gender, in the Residence Halls according to the following schedule:

    School days:
Conclusion of school obligations until 7:45 pm

    Weekends:
    11 am until Midnight

Day student guest must be in the presence of host!

Visiting in Residence Hall lounges of opposite gender friends may only occur during time when faculty supervisors are present.  Weeknights 7 pm to 7:45 pm and 10 pm to 10:30 pm.  Weekend hours are listed on the weekend activity schedule.

  • May my child eat dinner or join a resident life weekend meal?

We are happy to have day students join us, but they need to either pay $5 in cash to the chef on duty or have a meal card, available from the business office.
