Saint Andrew's School would like congratulate our Middle School Band Students for their outstanding results at the Heritage Music Festival in Orlando this past weekend.

The Middle School Band had a record breaking weekend with 5 Trophies and 5 Gold ratings received:

  • Concert Band Percussion Ensemble - Gold Rating, 3rd Place
  • Jazz Band Percussion Ensemble - Gold Rating, 2nd Place
  • Advanced Concert Percussion Ensemble - Gold Rating, 1st Place
  • Advanced Concert Band - Gold Rating, 2nd Place
  • Jazz Band - Gold Rating (not ranked due to no other MS Jazz Bands at the event)

Only three adjudication trophies were awarded with over a dozen schools participating (An adjudication trophy is presented to those ensembles both choral and instrumental that receive a 92 or better score.) All three adjudication trophies were awarded to Saint Andrew's Ensembles: the Advanced Concert Percussion Ensemble, The Jazz Band Percussion Ensemble, and to the Jazz Band.

The Middle School Band also received the Instrumental Sweepstakes Award - presented to the school that has entered at least two instrumental groups and has achieved the highest combined score.

In addition to the above, 8th grader Aniruddh Bisaria on Alto Saxophone received the Maestro Award for his outstanding solos with the Jazz Band

Finally the MS Jazz Band received the Most Outstanding Band Award, presented to the instrumental ensemble in Middle School or High School that achieves the highest score.

Saint Andrew's School would like to thank Jan Emigh and her instrumental teachers for their leadership and a job well done!

Go Scots!
