Going Green 
Saint Andrew's School would like to update you on some of its "green efforts" and how we are helping to make a difference for our planet. Saint Andrew's School is proud to be a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, Energy Star, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and Green School Alliance. We are excited that the new Moabery Early Years Learning Center and renovations of the Nina and Edgar Otto Lower School Campus are designed to be LEED Certified, the Moabery Early Years Learning Center LEED for Schools certified at the Gold Level.
- Bike Patrol
One of the fastest growing trends in school safety and security today is utilization of mountain bicycles. Environmentally friendly, quiet, cost efficient, and amazingly effective, mountain bikes are able to bridge the gap between motorized patrol and foot patrol. The Saint Andrew’s Safety and Security Department has now launched a Bicycle Patrol Unit that supports the school’s ‘green’ initiatives. Read more

School Headmaster Dr. Ann Marie Krejcarek is proud to announce that on June 16, 2009, Saint Andrew's School became the first school in Florida and the sixth school nationally awarded the Gold level certification under the LEED for Schools Rating System by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). "We are thrilled and honored that the Moabery Early Years Learning Center has been certified at the Gold level by the LEED for Schools Rating System," stated Dr. Krejcarek. "Saint Andrew's School is fully committed to finding long term ways to do our part and live in balance with the natural world that sustains us. We encourage other schools in the South Florida region to ‘go green' and model positive environmental action by utilizing the LEED for Schools Rating System." Read more

Saint Andrew's School is the first K-12 school (independent or public) registered as a LEED for Schools project in all of South Florida. That sounds very exciting. Can you tell us how this all started?
Saint Andrew's School has always prided itself in being a learning organization and the school leadership continually thinks about how we deliver education to our students. In November, 2006, Saint Andrew's School began the preliminary design process with our architects for the new Moabery Early Years Learning Center. Initially, the administration found itself using the architect's translation of "programming into space" as had been done in prior school projects. Read more

The Green Cup Challenge™ is the first and only national student-driven interschool energy challenge. The GCC supports student greening efforts including recycling and water conservation, raises awareness and helps schools reduce their carbon footprint. Read more
- Green Curriculum
- Use of certified LEED for Schools Lower School Building in Junior-Kindergarten through grade 12 curriculum Saint Andrew's School will use the FOSS (Full Option Science System) curriculum in grades K-8. School Headmaster Dr. Ann Marie Krejcarek is proud to announce that Saint Andrew's School was awarded the title "Green School of Quality" by the Palm Beach County Green Schools Recognition Program for 2009. The Green School Recognition Program recognizes public and private schools that encourage cultures of sustainability within their school environments.
