Once again the Sunshine Invitational College Fair is making its way into Saint Andrew's! This year the fair will be held on Saturday, October 17th in the Malnik Family Athletic Center. Find fair information and a school list here!

On Wednesday, April 8th and Thursday, April 9th the senior Commencement Speaker Contest will be held. Students interested in this opportunity should contact the Student Life Office to schedule their appointments. Sunshine College Fair 2008

Once again Saint Andrew's School is hosting the annual Sunshine College Fair! This event will feature over 185 universities and colleges. Sophomore, juniors and seniors from Saint Andrew's, Westminster Academy, North Broward Preparatory School and St. Thomas Aquinas are invited to attend. The doors open at 11:30 for Seniors, 12:00 for juniors and 12:30pm for sophomores. The fair will end at 2:00pm. You may find a complete list of attending colleges here.

Summer travel in the CGO

Dr. Bouressa spent a great deal of time on the road visiting colleges and universities this summer. While leading a tour group visiting colleges throughout the Northeast he visited the following universities and had meetings with admission deans at Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Brown University, Yale University, Columbia University, Barnard College, Sarah Lawrence University, Swarthmore College, Villanova University, Johns Hopkins University, Goucher College and George Washington University. He also visited Florida Institute of Technology, Stetson University and Flagler College meeting with admission deans along the way.
August 3 - 8, 2008 - Mrs. Niemiec attended the Southern California Counselors' Tour and Program sponsored by the Western Association of College Admission Counseling. In addition to professional presentations on a wide variety of topics related to the admission process, the program, which was held on the campus of Chapman University, also included visits to over a dozen area universities including Cal Tech, the University of Southern California, Chapman University, Scripps College, Pomona College, Harvey Mudd College, Claremont McKenna College, Pitzer College, California State University - Long Beach, UCLA, Marymount College, Occidental College, Whittier College, Loyola Marymount University, University of La Verne, University of San Diego, Marymount Palos Verdes College and Otis College of Art and Design.
Considering that for some the north is too cold and the west is too far - this summer, Mr. Acosta spent part of his time closer to home in the Carolinas. He was a counselor at College Horizons, a program for Native American students, and was able to spend a week at Duke University. He also joined about 50 other counselors at SACAC's Summer Seminar, where he had the opportunity of visiting several colleges including: Furman University, Davidson College, Winthrop University, Converse College, Wofford College, and Clemson University. Earlier this month, he also had the opportunity to take a day trip down to Miami and visit the University of Miami.
CGO adds SAT and ACT preparation service through Naviance!

We are pleased to announce that the CGO has recently purchased access to SAT Method and ACT Method preparation courses and they are available free of charge to all students through the Naviance system. These courses were designed by a team of experienced tutors who have helped thousands of students raise their test scores.
SAT Method and ACT Method:
With both SAT Method and ACT Method, students can listen to a professional tutor explain the concepts and questions that they are struggling with, without reading through pages of intimidating text. Students get immediate feedback and a complete explanation for every practice question. Each student's performance is tracked and strengths and weaknesses are clearly indicated. Counselors and parents can see where students need to focus their study time. Since SAT Method and ACT Method are available on-line, students have access from any Web-enabled computer, making it easy for them to study when it's most convenient. With SAT Method and/or ACT Method, students can:
- Hear audio explanations of test questions- Access strategy guides for each test- Complete full-length practice tests- Receive hundreds of practice questions- Read easy explanations to every question- Track their strengths on each test- Receive valuable test-taking tips- Take practice quizzes to boost their knowledge- Access their courses on an unlimited, 24x7 basis, from any Web-enabled computer. With SAT Method and ACT Method, students can increase their standardized test scores free of charge to all students.
