2010-2011 Curriculum Guide
This Curriculum Guide has been compiled to provide a complete description of the Upper School’s academic program and of individual course offerings. Saint Andrew’s School’s academic mission is to provide our students with strong preparation for a traditional liberal arts college education. Our students develop skills in reading comprehension, writing, logic, analysis, problem solving and critical thinking, as well as a body of specific knowledge pertaining to English, history, mathematics, science, foreign language, computers, theology and the fine arts. The rigor of our academic program broadens students’ intellectual capabilities and enables them to acquire knowledge, skills, and techniques essential for success in college and beyond. The breadth and depth of courses offered demonstrate our concern for our students’ academic preparation and our belief that the heart of Saint Andrew’s School is the outstanding curriculum we have designed.
This Curriculum Guide also presents the additional requirements in community service as well as in physical education and athletics needed for graduation. We believe that these requirements in addition to our academic course requirements make manifest our commitment to the mission of Saint Andrew’s School.
