Student Life

Saint Andrew's school is committed to providing an education for students in mind, body, and spirit. To this end, the School offers a variety of extracurricular and social activities for our students at every age. Many opportunities exist for students to develop leadership skills, discover classmates and peers who have similar interests, gather for social events, and enjoy time together.
The campus calendar holds an array of events. Field trips, dances, school plays and musicals, choral concerts, and nationally renowned guest speakers and authors, field days and sporting events add variety to the academic year.
Activities for all Ages
Any student, Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12, can find a place to expend energy and enthusiasm. The opportunities include everything from pep and chess clubs and the robotics team to choral groups, student government, Honor Board, Honor Education Council and the Student Booster Club. Students can use writing or photography skills on the Bagpiper (school newspaper) or Literary Magazine staffs. Peer counseling, Honor Societies and modern language clubs are also options.
Many social events are held throughout the year, including holiday celebrations, Scots Spirit Day, Homecoming Weekend, Winterfest, the Junior/Senior Prom and springtime Highland Games.

Weekend Life
From beaches and ball games to concerts and culture, South Florida offers a myriad of recreational possibilities. Each weekend a faculty team arranges transportation for our boarding students to beaches, shopping and amusement areas. On-campus activities include pool parties, cookouts, dances, movies and athletic events. Boarders may accept day student weekend invitations.

Community Service
Community service takes many forms, from the Lower School "Jump Rope for Heart" to upperclassmen volunteering in nursing homes or hospitals. Others work with children of migrant workers or assist professional staff at museums and other cultural centers. Additionally, community service teaches vital lessons of compassion and tolerance, while enriching the surrounding community.
