Boys Cross Country Shine at State Meet

The varsity boys cross country team competed in the FHSAA Class 2A Finals on Saturday, November 17 in Tallahassee for the second consecutive year. The Scots came into the state meet seeded 22nd out of twenty-four teams and finished the race in 18th place. All members of the team topped their personal best times. Ninth grader Nic Jacobsen was the top finisher for the Scots placing 11th in the meet out of 184 runners with a time of 16:24.31. Senior David Sweetapple finished second for the Scots with a time of 17:04.41 followed by Nicholas Kaleel (17:55.86), Lucas MacDonald (18:13.12), AJ Winer (20:09.87), Collin Garcia (20:34.57), and Mark Klimek (22:39.10). Once again the boys had an outstanding year placing first at districts, fifth at regionals, and eighteenth at states. Congratulations boys!
