Saint Andrew's Parents Association (SAPA)

The Saint Andrew's Parents Association (SAPA) is an extremely active organization which works closely with faculty and staff to enrich the students' lives at Saint Andrew's School and to nurture and strengthen the bond between Saint Andrew's School and its families. SAPA sponsors community events, organizes volunteers, and provides opportunities for parent involvement in the life of the school.

SAPA provides funding for both curriculum and cultural enrichment. It also provides funds for physical enhancements to the campus as well as contributing to the Endowment Fund. SAPA also sponsors guest speakers to discuss issues relevant to parents.

Scot Spirit, SAPA's monthly newsletter, is included with the school's Parent Group Updates Email Blast.

Who is a member of SAPA?

All Saint Andrew's School parents are automatically members of SAPA. The school bills parents on behalf of SAPA, enabling all parents the opportunity to be represented and all are invited to attend the monthly SAPA Board meetings. At the Board meetings there are updates from Administration, as well as discussions about SAPA events and school issues.

What events is SAPA planning for this year and how do I volunteer?

The Volunteer Handbook describes each volunteer opportunity available at Saint Andrew's School.

How do I join the SAPA Board of Directors?

Start by attending the SAPA Board meetings, which are open to all Saint Andrew's parents. SAPA has a 10 member Executive Board and a 43 member General Board. There are also standing and special committees which are formed throughout the year. As you can see, there are many leadership opportunities! Board positions and committee chairpersons are selected by the SAPA Nominating Committee. If you are interested in participation at this level, please contact the Nominating Committee and/or current SAPA Board members to learn more. Self-nominating interest ballots are mailed to the parents at the beginning of the second semester to offer the opportunity to participate. These help the Nominating Committee match up your interests with the positions available annually. Ballots are posted on the school's Website and the SAPA Board is elected in May at the Annual Meeting for the following year.

So please come along to the meetings and events, make new friends and experience the warm sense of community that exists at Saint Andrew's School. Your involvement will help to enhance the quality of your children's education and also their enjoyment of their school years.
